The Bible commands several aspects of missions, several of which are measurable and serve as fair standards for gauging the effectiveness of a ministry.

Is the ministry producing authentic disciples? This is the core commandment of the Great Commission.

Are people coming to know Christ? Paul regularly rejoices over advances of the gospel in many new believers’ lives.

Are healthy, Biblical churches emerging because of the work? Growing churches led by godly elders were the primary result of early missionaries’ efforts.

Are workers remaining faithful in their message and their perseverance? Paul celebrated several people’s faithful roles in advancing the gospel, such as in I Cor. 3.6.

Are workers carrying out the mission with God-honoring unity? In John 17 Jesus declares the unity of the believers as being a major sign that will testify to the truth of the gospel.
